Finally! Something to update!

Sunday was a very good day. I got a call from the Crowley production. I will be dayplaying as a PA on the show. It runs from April 16 thru June.

After that call, I emailed the the co-producer/1st AD on Leverage. I will be dayplaying as a PA on that show, too. It runs from about now thru September.

I'm still working on The Imaginals as PM and 1st AD. Pre-production is going well and in full swing. We go into principal production the 1st of May and will wrap up first week of June.

Lot's of good news for work but it's going to require some major juggling skills to manage all three over the next couple of months.

Guest Speaking!

Last night I was a quest speaker at the Film Center for a Production Management class. This is the fourth time I've been asked to be a speaker. Sometimes I feel like I don't have the qualifications but every time that I talk to others it gives me a boost of energy. Kinda like it reminds me of what I love about this industry.

I've also been asked to speak at a workshop on February 16th. I'll be speaking on extras casting for independent and major feature films. Going over the legalities, paperwork, the casting process, what to look for in an extra, etc. I'll post the workshop information as soon as I get all the details.

The Imaginals!

I've signed on to be the Production Manager and Assistant Director for the independent film "The Imaginals." Very low budget but I think it will be a good experience and a lot of fun. I'm really liking the filmmakers, too.

The feature will be shot mostly weekends and evenings in May. If anyone wants to volunteer some time with preproduction or production feel free to drop me an email.

New Gig

I just signed on to PM and AD an indie feature called The Imaginals. It's an extremely ambitious film for a low budget. It will prove to be challenging but I think I need some challenges to keep my brain occupied.

I'll keep things updated as the production goes along.

News for the New Year

It's been a while since I've updated things. I've had 2 or 3 days of work since my last update. I've been busy working retail over the holidays and moving in November.

Follow the Prophet is premiering at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival January 23, 24 & 25, 2009. I won't be able to make it, unfortunately. I know it will be awesome and so many of my extras were featured on camera. I can't wait to see it.

Updates!

So I've been pretty busy as of late. I actually got a part-time job since work had been slow. I'm only getting about 8 hours a week but it's a nice fill in for the bills.

On July 27 & 28 I worked as a craft services assistant on the movie The Road. It's based on the book The Road and stars Viggo Mortenson (hope I spelled that right). Man, the hours were long. A days worth of prep on the 26th and driving up to Mt St. Helens. We got to the hotel parking lot at about 3:30am and the truck convoy left for location at 4:15 am. Location was a good hour drive from the hotel. Not much sleep was had. We were doing hot, made to order breakfast, craft services, hot lunch and second meal. All out of the motorhome and on the side of a closed road in an area that still has the blown down trees from the eruption. Sunday was a 17 1/2 hour day. They put us up in a different hotel for the night. There was no cell service in the entire area but the hotel had wifi so I was able to chat. We got up and drove to the first hotel and set up hot breakfast in the parking lot. Then drove in to Portland for location. Although it wasn't as long as the first day it was still a long day. After wrap I had to go back to Beaverton to offload the motorhome. I think I got to bed a little after 1am. That wouldn't have been too bad if I didn't have to get up the next two days to work my part time job at 6am. I actually haven't had a day off since the 25th.

Tomorrow I'll be assisting with another reality casting call. Bravo TV's show, Make Me A Supermodel is holding a casting call in Portland. I've had a few people tell me that I should audition for it. I'm just glad for the work.

CRIMPS revisited!

I found out yesterday that CRIMPS will be starting up again. I could definitely use the work. I'm glad that this project won't be lost in the netherworld of unfinished films. It's an indie horror movie and that is a profitable commodity these days. I'm happy to be a part of it.

It will mean that I will be heading to Astoria on weekends so I'll let you know when I'll be out of town.
