Short Job Coming Up

I'll be working on a commercial shoot next week. I'm providing craft services and hot breakfast for a Fifty Films production. The production company is from Utah and have hired some of us locals to round out the crew. We'll be shooting around downtown Portland for 3 days starting Sunday. Looking forward to a nice short shoot.

A Change in Position

So, if it doesn't change everyday it's not a real film, right? I've transitioned from Production Coordinator to 2nd AD now that we start production on Monday. I'm really happy about this change.

We start shooting on Monday with a very ambitious schedule. We have an amazing crew and I know we'll get it done!

House of Last Things

Wow! This week's schedule has been wild! On Sunday I got a call and in about 10 mins I became the Production Coordinator on a feature film called House of Last Things. And I started work the next day. So, between starting this new movie, working the last day of Kill Hole and the Kill Hole wrap party I've had about 9 hours of sleep this week.

Things are getting moving but we gotta move quick because we are just a little over two weeks out from shooting. I think it's gonna be a fun shoot.

That's a Picture Wrap on Me!

We've wrapped up all the days with extras on The Kill Hole. Shooting wraps on the 24th but my job is done. I'm sad. Funnest crew to work with by far!

I love Alternate Ending Studios!

Week Two Starts Tomorrow!

One week down, 3 to go! Day 6 of 20 starts tomorrow!

I'm having a blast on this shoot! The crew is amazing and fun and everyone pitches in. I even joined the grip and electric crew for half a day last week.

More fun this week and I'm even getting in front of the camera playing a waitress on Friday.

Amazing Day on Set Yesterday!

Okay, so I'm posting this everywhere and can't stop talking about it. Something amazing happened on set yesterday and it was because of my background talent.

My Veterans Support Group was sitting around and talking on set, (they were all real vets ranging from Vietnam to Iraq and Afghanistan and things in between that we don't even know about), and the director had the crew start running sound and camera without telling them. What came out was so raw and true and powerful. Billy Zane was so giving with them and "lead the group" but somewhere the line between actor and human blurred. Even for one of our leads, Chadwick Boseworth, who's character is a part of the group. Billy and Chadwick both stepped out at points so that they could change wardrobe for the next scene without disrupting the group dynamic.

There was not a dry eye at the monitor. And the guys themselves were experiencing something amazing. It's something that I will never forget. THIS IS WHY I LOVE CASTING!

FIRST DAY OF SHOOTING!

So today is the first day of principal photography for The Kill Hole. It's a beautiful day in Gresham. Glad the production office has air conditioning. I love the crew and I think this going to be a very fun shoot.

(no, it's not a porn!)

Work is really going to kick in this next week. Shooting starts on the 27th and the beginning of the shoot will be extras heavy. Can't wait for the shoot! This is a really fun crew and it just keeps getting better. Off to shower and head to the production office today!

New Project Starting Soon!

I just got the word that I will be the Extras Casting Director for a feature film called The Kill Hole. I'm looking forward to the challenge. It's a military film. I love genre specific casting!

Filming starts at the end of July and wraps early August.

Unfortunately, the funding fell through for In My Eyes and it is indefinitely post-poned. So if you know of any AD, Coordinator or PM positions let me know!

Rough but fun week on In Her Shoes

I worked 5 days on the NBC movie In Her Shoes over the last week and a half. It was rough weather, cold and stormy and WET. But, SO much fun! It was a great crew and so great to see everybody.

My new photo at the top of the page is from that set.

Another Short Film

My vacation was short lived. I'm in pre-production now for another short film.

The film is called Sub Rosa and I will be the 1st AD. We start shooting weekends starting on June 5. It's a psychological thriller of sorts. It should be a fun crew and cast.

Just Finished Production

I'm doing some post wrap on a four day shoot. I was production manager for a short film called The Company of Thieves. We had an amazing crew and cast! Everyone worked long hours to make sure we got this done. Thank you!

New Project!

Had a meeting this morning with the filmmaker and producer of a short film called The Company of Thieves. Meeting went well and I'm now the coordinator. It shoots for 4 days starting on April 15 so not much time before we start. We are shooting around the Portland area (meaning around the outside of Portland) but the "office" is on the coast. So, I'll be making a trip out there tomorrow. It's a good, solid script. Should be fun!

Finally Getting Things Back on Track

Man, February got really busy, I got worn out and really sick. Things have finally calmed down some. I'm taking a well deserved breath before getting back into the swing next week.

Call me if you need me!

Boy, Am I Tired

I wrapped last Friday on day 7 of what started out as a 5 day shoot. I'm not complaining about the two extra days of work but I am exhausted. Long hours. Cold exterior mountain locations. Lot's of rain. Great people! Can't wait to see the finished webisodes. I'll keep you updated.

DAY 7 OF 5

Took some scrambling to get it all worked out but two extras days of work is awesome for my utilities and rent! I have Saturday off to spend with my son for his birthday then back on Meat Market for the last day then I'm off until the next weekend!

Another Gig!

I just booked a 5 day infomercial shoot. I'll be doing crafty on this shoot. I don't have a whole lot of information at this point but it's with an LA production company, 20-30 people every day.

Yay for recommendations! I'm not sure who recommended me but someone did. Thank you!

The McMillan Girl

I just wrapped four days as AD on the short film The McMillan Girl. Directed by Vincent Caldoni (on the right, Christian Dolan on the left). It's a very interesting period piece set in early 1900's Oregon. Costumes and locations are beautiful. We had the Robert Newell house at Champoeg Park as our location for the four days. So our sets were already fully furnished with mid 1800's furniture, books, linens, rugs and everything. Gorgeous! But occasionally the modern world encroached in the form of planes heading to the local airport and vehicle traffic at the busy crossroad just outside. All in all a very productive and fantastically enjoyable weekend.

Another AD Gig!

Yesterday I booked another 1st AD gig. It's a short period piece which is right up my alley. I'm really excited about this one. I get to work with some of my favorite people. YAY!

Last Minute Gig

I get to assist on a feature tomorrow that is going to be so much fun. Ultimate Death Match 3! Professional wrestlers galore! Can't wait to get on set tomorrow.

OMPA Annual Meeting 1/21/2010

Tomorrow night is the OMPA Annual Meeting at Indent Studios. I'm providing the food for the meeting which has an Avatar theme. Going to buy all the food today. Prepping all day tomorrow then serving up by 6pm.

Should be a cool meeting. They will be setting up a special 3D projector and showing a couple of things possibly including an Avatar trailer that was posted on the same equipment that Indent Studios now has. Amazing stuff can be done with this system. We took a tour last week and got to see the kinds of things that it can do.

Come on down to the annual meeting. Indent Studios. Doors open at 6:15pm. $10 for non-members but if you find yourself a member they can bring one guest for free.

Cheers!

Bad Girls Club is casting again!

I got a call today from Bunim-Murray Productions to do more recruiting for them for The Bad Girls Club. I'll be working this weekend to find as many party girls as I can for the show. If you or anyone you know are interested please let me know!
